About

STANCE is a contemporary art gallery in Stockholm presenting a program of international contemporary artists. Located in the city center, the gallery focuses on practices that combine strong visual languages with conceptual depth—artists whose work reflects and challenges the cultural questions of the present.

Through a carefully curated exhibition program, STANCE introduces internationally recognized artists to the Stockholm art scene while supporting meaningful dialogue between artists, collectors, and audiences. The gallery presents museum-exhibited artists alongside emerging voices, offering access to significant contemporary artworks for both established collectors and those beginning to build collections.

The name STANCE reflects the gallery’s guiding principle: a commitment to artistic practices that assert themselves with clarity, conviction, and presence. Since its founding in 2024, the gallery has quickly established itself as a dynamic platform within Stockholm’s contemporary art landscape—hosting exhibitions, collaborations, and projects that contribute to the broader international art discourse. Founder and Director Eric Haeger established STANCE to create a platform where compelling artistic voices can be experienced in an intimate and direct way.

“My vision with STANCE is to build a gallery where powerful artistic practices can meet an engaged audience. I want the space to encourage discovery, dialogue, and new perspectives—bringing outstanding international contemporary art to Stockholm while connecting it to the global art conversation.”

Eric Haeger brings over a decade of experience across both the primary and secondary art markets. He began his career at Sotheby’s in London before working in leadership roles within art-technology ventures and later establishing himself as an independent art advisor, building collections for private clients internationally.

Artists exhibited at STANCE GALLERY have also shown at leading museums and institutions including Palais de Tokyo (Paris), Astrup Fearnley Museet (Oslo), TANK Shanghai (Shanghai), X Museum (Beijing), Tate Modern (London), Deichtorhallen Hamburg (Hamburg) Musée de l'Abbaye (Saint-Claude), SMAC (Ghent), Fondation Louis Vuitton (Paris), Moderna Museet (Stockholm) and Lafayette Anticipations (Paris), LACMA (Los Angeles), among others.
